Paper: A Biography of Girl Named Helen A. Keller

Helen A. Keller Helen A. Keller was born in the year 1880. When she was only one and a half, she became very ill. The doctors said that they could not do anything for her, she might die. But she lived. After a while her parents began to notice that the illness left a scaring mark. She started to have crazy ways and manners. When she was about six, she went to a doctor who was a professional on blind and deaf. He said to find a teacher that could help her. So they found one, Miss. Annie Sulliven. She told her farther that they needed to be alone for awhile she asked if they could go to the garden house, he said only for two weeks and no more. Miss Annie accepted. Her parents took her for a carriage ride so she did not know that she was close to home. Miss Annie started to sign in Helens hand, but Helen did not understand. Then Miss Annie had an idea she went outside to the water pump and started pumping water on her hand and started signing W-A-T-E-R on her other hand, Helen began to unde! rstand. She graduated Cum Laude from Radcliff in the class of 1904. Helen also learned how to read brail. It was Miss Annie who taught Helen. Helen could also type on a regular typewriter. Helen not only spoke English but also mastered French, German, Greek, Latin, Shakespearean and the Christian doctrine. She also wrote books, she wrote 14 total. One time she was also portrayed in a movie called The Miracle Worker in 1961. After the movie was made Patty Duke (who played Helen) paid her an admiring visit. Helen and Miss Annie had been together for almost 50 years. Then Helen found out some horrible newsMiss Annie died. Helen was discourage. She did not now what to do. But she kept going on.
